Therns Hostel

Hostel | Therns Hostel is an affordable and comfortable family hostel located in the heart of Gudhjem. The harbour is located 50 metres away, and the town's excellent restaurants and small boutiques will be your neighbours.

Therns Hostel is cozy with 23 rooms in exemplary "hostel-fashion" with their mix of single beds and bunk beds. You have the choice of renting bed linen or bringing your own, as well as the choice between adding breakfast to your stay or help yourself out in town.

The rooms can house from two people up to 20. So, if you're a big family or a group of friends on a trip to Sunshine Island, the family rooms are perfect for the occasion.

All guests at Therns get access to a small, basic communal kitchen with everything you need for simple cooking. You also get access to a smaller common room with lounge and tables.

Therns Hostel has been a part of Gudhjem since 1938. In 2022 new owners acquired it, who continuously service the building. The hostel is nice and tidy, perfect for a wonderful and budget-friendly stay in Gudhjem.

Gudhjem is a charming harbour town with narrow, winding streets that houses a bunch of boutiques, restaurants, and ice-cream parlors. The town is also known as "the Bornholmer mountain town", as it's the only town on the island completely surrounded by cliffs. Nature has had great influence over the town's shape and development: the harbour has actually been created by using explosives in the cliffs, the streets are steep and winding, and the town's houses are built close to one another on the bedrock, many of which with characteristic terraces shaped by cliffs and nature. In other words, it's a special town and a great pleasure to explore.
